Privacy Policy

This policy describes what MentionBell collects, why, and what we do with it. It applies to the website at mentionbell.com and to our desktop and mobile apps.

What we collect

• Account details — your name, email address and phone number, so we can create and secure your account.
• Your CV and profile — the document you upload and the structured profile extracted from it. This is what grounds answers in your real experience.
• Interview content — the questions detected and the answers generated during a session, stored only if you leave history enabled.
• Usage records — session length, question counts and technical metrics used for billing, abuse prevention and performance work.
• Payment records — the reference and status of a transaction. Card and bank details are handled entirely by Razorpay and never reach our servers.

Audio is not stored

Microphone audio is streamed to a speech-to-text provider to be transcribed and is then discarded. We do not record, save, or retain the audio of your interviews, and neither the raw microphone stream nor the full running transcript is written to our database.

Screenshots

Screen capture happens only when you press the screenshot shortcut. The image is sent to the language model to read the question and is retained with that session only if you have history enabled. Nothing is captured in the background.

Who we share it with

To generate answers we send the detected question, and the relevant parts of your profile, to third-party AI providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google Gemini. We may change or add providers as models improve.

We also use service providers for infrastructure such as hosting, storage and payment processing, who handle data only on our instructions.

Our website uses a third-party live chat widget. If you open it, the provider receives your messages along with technical details such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visited. Do not share passwords or payment details in chat — we will never ask for them there.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

How long we keep it

• Account and profile data — until you delete your account
• Interview history and transcripts — until you delete them, or your account
• Usage and billing records — as long as tax and accounting rules require

Your choices

• Turn off history so no interview content is stored at all
• Delete individual sessions from the app
• Delete your CV and profile at any time
• Request a copy of your data, or full deletion, by emailing support@mentionbell.com

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is enforced at the database level with row-level security, so one account cannot read another’s data even if the client is tampered with. Sessions are validated against the server rather than trusted from the device.

Children

MentionBell is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and notify account holders by email before the change takes effect.
