Example answers by role
Engineering interview
Walk me through a system you had to scale.
In my last role I owned policy delivery to around ten million enrolled devices. - The bottleneck was a synchronous fan-out — one slow device held up the whole batch - I moved it onto a queue with per-tenant partitions, so one tenant can never block another - Added idempotency keys so retries were safe, and rolled it out behind a flag per region p99 went from 820ms to 210ms, and the flagged rollout caught two ordering bugs in staging rather than production.
Product interview
How would you prioritise the roadmap for next quarter?
**User problem:** activation is at 34% — most signups never reach their first real session. **Success metric:** day-7 activation, not signups. Signups were never the constraint. **Tradeoff I'd make:** ship the onboarding rewrite before the integrations work. Integrations win bigger logos, but they compound on a funnel that currently leaks two thirds of the people we already have.
Marketing interview
Tell me about a campaign that underperformed.
We ran a ₹4L paid push for a webinar and filled 12% of the seats we forecast. - The offer was wrong, not the channel — we sold "learn about our platform" to people with no problem yet - I killed it at day four rather than spending the full budget to be certain - Relaunched against a specific pain, same channel, same creative budget — 61% fill The lesson I took was to test the offer before the spend, not the audience.
Sales interview
Tell me about a deal you lost.
A ₹40L renewal that I thought was safe because the champion loved us. **Discovery questions I'd ask now:** - Who signs, and have I ever spoken to them? - What happens to this budget if you do nothing? - Who else is being evaluated, and on what criteria? **How I'd handle the objection:** - Get the economic buyer in the room by month two, not month ten - Tie renewal to a number their CFO already tracks

Works with every interview platform
Your computer keeps MentionBell out of anything it captures, so it stays off the share on all of them.
Also Amazon Chime, CoderPad, Codility and phone screens — anything you can hear works for questions, anything you can see works for a screenshot.
Features
Built for the two seconds that matter
Everything is tuned around one thing: an answer you can read and say out loud before the pause becomes obvious.
Answers before you need them
Generation starts on partial speech instead of waiting for the interviewer to finish. First words are usually on screen in under two seconds.
Grounded in your real CV
Upload once. Every answer uses your actual roles, projects and numbers — and never invents an employer or metric that is not in your profile.
Coding rounds covered
One shortcut reads the problem straight off your screen — LeetCode, HackerRank, CoderPad — and returns approach, complexity and working code.
Answers your way
Custom instructions override every default. Classify by question type, force a structure, set the tone — whatever your field needs, in your words.
Every session saved
Full history and transcripts on your account, synced across devices. Review what you were asked and how you answered.
Genuinely unlimited
No credits, no per-minute meter, no session cap. One price, as many interviews as you have.
Stealth
They share the screen. You see the answer.
Hiding a window behind another one is not stealth. MentionBell is excluded from anything your computer captures, so it cannot appear in a share, a recording, or a screenshot.
- Invisible on screen share — your computer keeps it out of anything it captures, not hidden behind a window
- Invisible in recordings — nothing appears even if the call is recorded
- No Dock or taskbar icon — nothing to notice in a screen share of your desktop
- Phone mode — answers render on your phone, so the interview machine shows nothing at all
- Click-through overlay — the window never steals focus from the call
Tell me about a time you handled a production incident.
In my last role I owned the checkout migration onto Kafka-backed services. p99 latency was 820 ms and costing us conversions…
Setting up phone mode
Nothing to install. Your phone opens the same account in its browser and becomes a read-only mirror of the answers.
- Start on your laptop
Choose Stealth Mode and start the session. Your laptop does the listening.
- Scan the code
The app shows a QR code for app.mentionbell.com. Scan it and sign in with the same account.
- Hide the window
Tap Connect on the phone, then press ⌘B. Answers stream to your phone only.
Your phone only ever displays answers — it never records audio and never sends anything to the interview.

FAQ
Questions people actually ask
Is it visible when I share my screen?
No. Your computer keeps MentionBell out of anything it captures, so screen shares, recordings and screenshots all show your desktop exactly as if the app were not running. Stealth mode goes further and puts answers on your phone, so nothing at all appears on the interview machine.
How fast are the answers?
First words typically land under two seconds. MentionBell fires on partial speech rather than waiting for you to finish hearing the question, so the answer is already forming while the interviewer is still talking.
Does it use my actual experience?
Yes. Upload your CV once and every answer is grounded in your real roles, projects and numbers. It will not invent an employer, a metric or a technology that is not in your profile.
Can I control how it answers?
Custom instructions take priority over every default. Write how you want questions classified and structured — STAR for behavioural, complexity and pitfalls for DSA, whatever fits your field — and it follows that exactly.
What about coding rounds?
Press the screenshot shortcut and the question is read straight off your screen — LeetCode, HackerRank, CoderPad, a shared doc. You get an approach, complexity and working code.
Do I need headphones off?
Yes, on the default microphone mode — it hears the interviewer through your speakers. There is an HD system-audio mode on desktop that captures the call directly, where headphones are fine.
What does unlimited actually mean?
Unlimited sessions and unlimited questions for the month. No credits, no per-minute billing, no session caps.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
Cards, UPI, net banking and wallets through Razorpay. Cancel any time from your account — you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Your next interview is the one that counts
